Lisa Palermo Appointed Executive Chef of the Carnegie House

Lisa joins the Carnegie House with extensive experience having served as Executive Chef of the 5 star Grand Bay Hotel and the Sheraton Design Center Hotel in Florida. She also was the Executive Chef and General Manager of the Sonny Bono Restaurant in Palm Springs, CA. Most recently, Lisa was the Executive Chef for Java Catering at Penn State University.

Nathan Kochel Promoted to Asst. General Manager of the Carnegie House
State College, PA. Hospitality Asset Management Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Nathan Kochel to Assistant General Manager of the Carnegie House, a Boutique Hotel, located in the Toftrees area of State College, PA.
Nathan joined the Carnegie House in 2008, bringing his years of luxury property experience to State College. He started his hospitality career as Operations Supervisor at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, and more recently assisted in directing Housekeeping Services for the Hilton Short Hills in Short Hills, New Jersey.

Ground Breaking Ceremony for Hotel & Recreation Development Project
Burnham, PA. A groundbreaking ceremony for the Derry Heights Development has been scheduled for Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 2:00 PM. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on the construction site on Ferguson Valley Road (Route 322 at the Burnham exit).
The groundbreaking ceremony will celebrate the beginning of construction of Phase I, which will include a 5 story Hampton Inn & Suites, adjacent restaurant and a Cinema Center digital/3D ten-plex theatre facility with stadium seating. Phase II will include additional hotels with adjacent indoor sports complex, water park and family entertainment center. Located on 160 acres between Lewistown and Burnham in Mifflin County (approximately 70 miles from Harrisburg and 30 miles from State College), the Derry Heights/Burnham project is expected to boost the local economy through visitor and tourism dollars, as well as employment opportunities in construction and in operations after construction is complete. Phase I is slated to open in the fall of 2010.
“We are excited to begin construction on this project,” said developer Nicholas Moraitis, President of Moraitis Properties of Pittsburgh. “We believe that the location and design of the project will make it a win for us and a win for Mifflin County.” Mr. Moraitis is also the owner of the nearby Greater Lewistown Shopping Plaza.

Opening of the Quality Inn
State College, Pa. Hospitality Asset Management Company, Inc. of State College is pleased to announce the opening of the Quality Inn at 1274 North Atherton Street (Business Route 322) effective September 1, 2009.
Formerly Motel 6, the hotel underwent extensive renovations to convert to a Quality Inn Hotel, including upgrades in décor, new furnishings and an expanded exercise area. The Quality Inn will offer high speed internet access and will feature the Q Corner Café breakfast – a complimentary station-breakfast service offering guests waffles and eggs, a variety of cereals, breads, fresh fruit and pastries. Coffee service is available to guests throughout the day.
